Why choose l'Académie? Meet Antoine...

Antoine De Henau was born and raised in Belgium in the French-speaking province of Brabant Wallon. Enrolled at an International high school with English instruction, Antoine became bilingual by the time he attended university in the US.

After years of work (and an arts degree) in Film and Television production, Antoine rediscovered the classroom. He fell in love with the wonderful world of children’s recreation and education through filmmaking programs. Over the next 6 years, he acquired important skills running after-school musical theatre programs and working at day and overnight camps.

With a newfound interest in teaching and a special affection for his first language, Antoine headed back to university to obtain a Bachelor of Art in French Studies at York University’s Glendon College and a Master in Teaching with a French teachable at the University of Toronto’s Ontario Institute for Studies in Education.

To offer the best in French learning support and recreational programming, Antoine opened l'Académie. With his first-hand experience in tackling challenges of assimilating a new language and simultaneously acquiring skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking, Antoine fosters a positive environment and a supportive and enthusiastic approach that characterize all of the teachers at l’Académie.

When he's not tutoring or teaching, Antoine goes for runs along the lakeshore, long walks through Toronto and spends hours perfecting his climbing skills in Liberty Village.
